Steel pipes and methods for manufacturing steel pipes

Steel Pipes
Steel pipes or round steel pipes are pipes that are formed by bringing steel into a thermal process in a steel furnace and being rolled into a round pipe. Steel pipes are intended to be used as a medium to move fluids from one point to another.
The production process of steel pipes is divided into 2 main groups:
1. Seamed / Welded Steel Pipe
The production process of seamless steel pipes uses the method of rolling steel and welding the seams, which can be welded either straight seam or spiral coil seams.

1.1 Electric Resistance Welding (ERW) It is a weld that uses compression forces while the seam is melted by the heat generated by an electric current at a temperature of about 1,200°C to 1,400°C, and another form of High Frequency Welding (HFW) or (High Frequency Electric Resistance Welding) is also considered a form of ERW steel pipe production.

1.2 Electric Fusion Welding (EFW) It is a welding process that uses electric current to arc the weld to melt next to each other. There are two types of seams:
- Longitudinal Welded Seam
- Spiral Welded Seam
2. Seamless Steel Pipe

The production process of seamless steel pipes is made from solid steel bars with a round cross-section, which is started by heating the steel rods at a temperature of about 1,230°C. penetrates into the steel, causing a hollow tube. Then it heats and rolls the steel pipe to the required size and thickness.
